In Smit Desai’s Designing Talking Machines course, students used CHAI Lab’s Agent Personality Playground to build agents with different personalities and roles, including planning, wellness, customer support, and advice-seeking. The activity brought research from Vibe Check into the classroom, opening discussion about why the same personality can feel helpful in one context and excessive in another.
